Compare Lists

With Compare Lists you can view and analyze two lists of patents or applications "side-by-side". First select the lists for comparison:

Then click the "Compare" button. This will display the two lists side-by-side. The Action Menus on each list will depend on the type of list and your permission levels. (NOTE: If you use the Action Menu on a single list the action will be launched in a new window.) If the lists are of similar type a Dual Analysis pulldown menu will appear at the center top of the page. Use the Dual Analysis pulldown menus to perform the same analysis on each list at the same time and display the results side-by-side:

The Dual Analysis pull-down menu options are described below:

Use the Analytics Menu to group the patents and/or applications in the two lists by one of these categories:

Agent Analysis: Groups by the Agent/Attorney on the patent/application.
Assignee Analysis: Groups by the Front Page Assignee/Owner (at time of issue/publication).
Current Assignee Analysis: Groups by the current Assignee/Owner of record at the USPTO.
Examiner Analysis: Groups by the Primary Examiner of the patent/application.
Inventor Analysis: Groups by the Inventor(s) listed on the patent/application.

Application Date Analysis: Groups by the U.S. Application Date.
Publication Date Analysis: Groups by the Application Publication Date or Patent Issue Date.

US Class Analysis: Groups by the primary Main Class under the U.S. Patent Classification System.
US Class Pair Analysis: Groups by the primary Class/Subclass Pair under the U.S. Patent Classification System.
